‘Goodnight Mister Tom’

Tickets are now ON SALE for our Summer half-term, family theatre production ‘Goodnight Mister Tom’ by David Wood, adapted from the story by Michelle Magorian.

Billeting Officer – efficient, no-nonsense
Tom Oakley [Mister Tom] – late 50s to late 60s, reclusive 
Charlies Ruddles – ARP Warden
Mrs. Fletcher – Housewife, mother to George [And others]
Doctor Little – Caring, practical M or F
Mrs. Annie Hartridge – Village School Mistress, young, kindly
David Hartridge – Annie’s Husband, trainee RAF Pilot
Miss Thorne – Librarian and Amateur Dramatics enthusiast

Mr. [Or Mrs.] Miller – owner of village Post Office
Miss [Or Mr.] Miller – helps-out in the Post Office
Mrs. Beech – William’s mother, strict, religious, has mental health issues
Ticket Collector [London]
ARP Warden [London]
Glad – warm-hearted Londoner
Policeman [London]
Nurse – young, sympathetic
Nursing Sister – strict, no-nonsense
Mr. Stelton – a psychiatrist
The Children
William Beech – maltreated London evacuee, 10 years old
George Fletcher – youngest son of Mrs. Fletcher
Carrie Twins F – 10 years old, could be played by older teens
Ginnie Twins F – 10 years old, could be played by older teens
Zach – Evacuee, Jewish, 11 years old, very theatrical
Playing evacuees, Londoners, villagers, hospital staff
The Puppets
Sammy – Mister Tom’s Collie Dog

The roles of Tom Oakley, William and Zach will not be doubled, but as some of the characters are small cameos, there is scope to double roles.
Other than Tom, William and Zach, all actors will also play ensemble.

FREE ‘Community Theatre Taster’ Afternoon

Always wanted to perform or get involved behind-the-scenes?
ACTion extend a very warm welcome to you to come along and discover community theatre at our ‘taster’ afternoon workshop!
Come along and have fun as you sing a little, dance a little and act a little and then join our friendly members in the greenroom afterwards for one of our lovely ACTion High Teas!
No previous experience required!
Please wear relaxed, comfy clothing and footwear you can move in.
Age Guide: 11 years+
